A Transformative Entrepreneurial Retreat in Greece

In the spring of 2024, Nicole and I embarked on a remarkable journey to Chania, Greece, for a retreat designed specifically for entrepreneurial therapists. Dubbed “The Token Canadians” at the event, we quickly found ourselves immersed in an experience that deeply impacted both our personal and professional lives. As we reflect, we’re filled with gratitude for the opportunity and our incredible hosts.

The retreat in Chania was a mix of professional growth and cultural immersion. Set against the breathtaking Venetian backdrop, the historic town offered a serene and inspiring setting. From the moment we arrived, we were drawn in by the cobblestone streets, lively markets, and the welcoming spirit of our hosts and local guides. Their warmth and generosity set the tone for the entire retreat—and we knew then that we’d return one day to host a retreat of our own in this beautiful seaside town.

One of the most memorable aspects was the connection we felt with fellow participants. There was so much to share and learn—the exchange of ideas and experiences was rich and meaningful. The conversations were engaging, the camaraderie real. It was clear we shared a common vision: to grow our practices and support one another along the way.

Our Greek hosts added something truly special. Their deep knowledge of local culture, history, and cuisine brought an authentic richness to the experience. We were treated to fresh, local Cretan food that was nothing short of amazing. Sharing meals became one of the sweetest parts of the retreat—times filled with connection, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The flavors of Greece, from fresh olive oil to endless feta, will always remind us of the meaningful connections formed around those tables.

Beyond the workshops and conversations, the retreat offered space for adventure and reflection. From countryside tours to quiet walks along the Venetian harbor, each moment was a chance to take in the beauty of Crete and gain a fresh perspective. These experiences fueled our creativity and reminded us why stepping away from daily life is so important.

Looking back, we’re reminded of the power of connection and the importance of creating intentional spaces for growth. This retreat reaffirmed our commitment to fostering opportunities for therapists to connect, learn, and thrive.

Here’s to the magic of retreats—where we grow together and embrace the beauty of different cultures and perspectives. We look forward to welcoming many of you at a future retreat and sharing in more unforgettable moments.
